Pediatric thermal injuries are common, serious and in the majority of cases completely preventable, yet thermal injuries are the 3rd leading cause of injury-related hospital admissions for Canadian children under the age of four.  Too Hot for Tots! is an evidence based program which aims to educate parents and caregivers across Canada about burn hazards in the home and home child care settings in order to reduce the number of these preventable injuries. 

 

​Series Description

During this 3-module series, Firefighters, Early Childhood Educators, Public Health Nurses and Family Support Workers will be taught how these injuries happen and why. Evidence based - best practice prevention strategies will be shared, as well as suggestions on how to effectively implement this program in a community setting.
